  • Where should I lift the volume to get my - natural volume - MIR-orchestra louder?

I´m using multi-outputs in Logic. Now I´m wondering, if I can just group all aux-channels, receiving MIR-sound and raise the volume.

I got something in mind, that a lift of e. g. 6 db has a different impact on a very silent instrument than on a very loud one.

So do I still have the same volume relation between all instruments, when I group all channels and lift all faders together? Or do I have to lift the master volume?

  • If implemented properly, a 6 dB move of any number of linked faders will have the same effect as adjusting them seperately. A "Selection Group" in VE Pro / MIR Pro will work like that.

As long as you use one global output for all MIR Pro channels, raising its master fader will do the trick, too - just avoid any overs for any signal that is meant to be D/A-converted.

  • Thanks for the hint! I still feel a little unsecure about this:

The outputs of VE PRO go to aux-channels in my Logic. As I understood you, I could group these aux-channels, so when I lift the volume of one aux by 6 db all others are also lifted by 6 db. Does this keep the volume relation of all aux-channels the same? To me it seems like a 6 db lift on a channel from -40 db to - 34 db has another result than a lift in a channel from 0 db to 6 db.
