  • VEP5 event input and notion3

I've been struggling to grasp exactly how to use the event input in my notion scores. I'm trying to create a template, together with the gratis Epic Orchestra (bundled with VEP5) as well as some other libraries I have.

I'd like to ultimately use up my slave computer to expose instances, for example, woodwinds, brass etc... each instance can have multiple multitimbral VSTs. Woodwinds input is Plugin #2, Brass Plugin #3 etc. This is all possible in my sequencer (sonar).

I just can't seem to find any clue how to make use of the event input from within notion3. I know I need it for the particular routing I am trying to do.

Any input would be great, thanks

  • Hello David!

Did you check out the Vienna Ensemble Pro 5 manual?
    http://www.vsl.co.at/en/68/428/2022/1709.htm

The Event Input is explained there. If you can't find a solution there, please describe in detail what you're trying to do.

    Best regards,
    Andi

  • Thanks for the reply, but I believe it is simply my lack of experience with both programs that led to my panic. In short, following the tutorial here: http://www.notionmusic.com/support/tutorials.html and inserting the Event Input as the VST"i" while using Ensemble Pro as the audio return (as stated in the VEP5 documentation), I am able to use one (albeit large) instance that contains all my orchestral sections.

    again, thanks for the reply
