    Hi there,

    I've experienced a very annoying bug which is the following :

    -Sometimes, when I hit play button ( in logic pro 9 ) the different vienna ensemble pro instances are not in time with each other ( it's in general a difference of a 16 th note )

    To solve this bug, a simple rewind and play again, and problem solved...

    When playing directly in Logic, this isnt such a problem...

    BUT, it also happens when bouncing tracks !!

    So imagine when you need to bounce 100 midi tracks ( for further mixing in protools ) and having to check if the 100 tracks are perfectly in time with each other  and rebouncing the one that are not in time ? It's a nightmare.

    my ethernet network is 1 gb, my host is a mac mini 2 ghz quad core and my slave is a I7 3600 k with 24 gb of ram and very fast hard disks..

    AFAIK this is a Logic problem and there is nothing that VSL can do about it.

    Are you sure?

    Because this doesnt happen using "traditional" AU instruments like kontakt / spectrasonics, without using VEP..

    The test isn't whether or not it happens without VEP, it's whether it happens to other hosts when using VEP. AFAIK it doesn't. However, as you have Pro Tools, you could always check it yourself.

    I get your point.
    But that "not in time audio tracks" bug doesnt happen in logic when using directly kontakt / omnisphere. Only when using these last AU instruments through VEP pro.So it IS related to VEP PRO not doing something properly.

    Maybe it happens only with logic, but it is a bug between VEP PRO and Logic then, both are guilty :D

    There is a solution. Hit play before you try to export to make sure things are in sync.

    Indeed. Logic is rather bad at dynamic latency compensation, so will sometimes need a stop & start of the transport. There's nothing we can do about that unfortunately.

    If my memory is good I have seen another mail about this problem, and VSL saying it will be fixed in the next update.

    WHEN you report a problem be sure to have last version installed !

    I'll give a go to the "start/stop" trick. although having to do that when you have to bounce 100 tracks isnt the most elegant solution .. :)

    @Cyril , I havent seen any fixes regarding time synchronization in the last VEP pro 5 changelog but I'll update my version and see if it still happens.

    Perhaps you need to bounce in a different way then. I don't use Logic, but maybe my method would work for you. I have all my instruments routed to their own audio tracks, so to bounce them all at the same time I just put the audio tracks into record and hit play. Yes, it has to be done in real time, but when using external hardware things have to be done in real time anyway, so it is no big deal.

    ich sehe das gar nicht so dramatisch. ich kann mich gut an die klicke früher erinnern... in den frühen 80ern, wo immer die geichen nasen vorm musikladen rumhingen und schwer bescheid wussten... und nur noch die kohle für fünf geräte brauchten um DEN megahit zu produzieren... aber fertig hatten sie nix. heute haben alle alles. aber trotzdem sind es die selben paar prozent, die einfach was machen WOLLEN, egal was schon da ist, was dabei rumkommt und wie hipp das ist. und die, die jahrelang dran bleiben, machen irgendwas geiles - früher oder später. die, die heute nur alles anklicken, abspeichern und den neuen kick suchen, sind die selben, die früher auch nur ferngesehen haben. irgendwoher kommen immer leute, die ihre möglichkeiten richig nutzen. und erst im rückblick kann man dann sagen, ja, genau so war das damals und heute ist das alles anders und geht ja gar nicht mehr so.
