Peformance tool problem

Just bought Strings Pro Edition, but still can't get how to use the tools more efficient. I now know how to assign the MIDI port from my Protools to the PERFORMENCE TOOL and then to GIGASTUDIO. Somehow still has trouble start working with the TOOLS, and also there's no TOOLS PRESETS for me to download. THe matrix of the tools I can understand how it works but... how should I treat it and actually work with my PROTOOLS and GIGASTUDIO.??

And, as far as I know that, if I use the tools I have to turn the MIDI ports in GIGA off, then I can not play other instruments in GIGA>? right? or wrong!!

Hi Josh!

For the use of the Performance Tool, you need the Performance Set. If you have the Strings Pro Edition, the only Performance Mode that will work is the Alternation Mode.

The seperate packages Strings / Brass&Woodwinds / Percussion contain single notes and dynamics.

And the Performance Set contains the Performance Elements you need to play Performance Instruments (for all sections).

So if you want to use Performance Instruments, go for the Performance Set!

Oh, and you´re right to switch all the MIDI Inports in GigaSudio to "none". The Performance Tool manages the MIDI Inports of GigaStudio from then on.

How stupid I am, I should go for the Performance set instead of STRING PRO. Wow, I c now.

Just to avoid a misunderstanding: The Strings Pro contain the single notes you will NEED! All the single notes and special articulations!

And the Performance Set gives you all Performance Elements for Performance Legato and Performance Repetitions, plus runs and fast repetitions.

what is the difference between the performance Repetitions and the "fast Repetitions"? I just started to use the 1st edition performance set repititions.

Hi acoustech!

Fast repetitions are played from 16th at 150 bpm to the highest possible playing speed of the given instruement. You would have to play karate on your keyboard to trigger repetitions that fast. Therefore you trigger the whole sample. And when you use the +RS version, you are provided with the last note of the originally played repetition.

With Performance Repetitions, you trigger each note of the Reptition individually, and the Repetition Mode of the Performance Tool switches to the next note of the Repetition automatically.
