  • VE Pro and its instruments (not loading as expected)

If I boot VE Pro and then Logic, load a recent piece into Logic, what happens inside VE Pro? It seems it doesn't quite know how much of the VE instance that was created in the previous session to load up. Out of 10 instruments, only a few play back. Then after a few plays all of the instruments come on so to speak.

VE Pro says it is Connected, but it isn't quite. I hit Connect anyway and choose Untitled instead of New and we're in business. But it isn't clear to me what is going on. I think I understand the Preserve function but don't perhaps understand the best way to save and reload a song/piece. I thought you might be able to load VE Pro, boot Logic and start loading VIs into VE Pro, then save Logic's 'song' and reload the song, which would load its instruments into VE Pro. But perhaps I'm mistaken or I haven't done things right yet. Preserve ensures Logic saves the instrument info/sounds along with the song, correct? So that reopening a Logic song reloads the sounds into VE Pro...?

    Hi jrm1,

The data of VE PRO is saved with your song (if "Decouple" is not activated).

Now, if you have a preserved VE PRO instance and you load another song, this song will try to push the data to VE PRO, and you can decide whether to accept it or not.

I hope it helps to understand the logic behind this when you read through the chapter "Preserve, Decouple, Connect and Disconnect – An Overview" on page 32 of the VE PRO 5 manual.

    Best,

    Paul
