Give your cofiguration

So how do I know how much I can load into ram??
I thought I was okay because it says I have 5GB ram free
thanks,
Dave
did you also look at CPU load ?
Do you have hanging notes on the master or on the slave or on both, do you have them without symphobia
can you narrow down you problem using the master only ?
Can you send me a PM with the screen copy :
- of the activity monitor while you are getting hanging notes (cb dot pub at numericable dot com)
- of the ethernet configuration on the master and the slave
Your problem is a bottle neck either in disk i/o, Ethernet, Midi or CPU usage
Using the Swap is normally a sign of "not enough memory" in some apps like office it does not matter as you can wait a few milisec, but with music it is no good (Using the swap show that there is no more place in memory and some of the memory is save to disk)
Event input, is having more problems than IAC, I had also hanging notes, I solve this by using IAC !
Could it be also because of 10.6, is 10.6 full 64 bit !
why did you not go for 10.7 ?
You have the "IAC Network" in the Network of the Midi section of Audio Midi setup app this if you use 2 Mac
You have a Master and a slave Mac ???
please give all details of Master Mac and software
