Adding custom cells in Sibelius

Hello,

I'd like to add some additional custom cells to the provided presets for Sibelius, but I'm at a loss as to where to begin. Here's what I would like to do:

For each of the provided Sibelius presets, I would like to add an additional matrix which is triggered by a common keyswitch. Each cell of this matrix would contain one of the various Dynamics patches of the instrument in question. In Sibelius, I would like to be able to trigger each of these cells with some kind of text such as "dyn1", "dyn2", "dyn2", etc., in a similar manner to how the existing custom1, custom2, and custom3 cells currently work.

Adding the matrices and patches is easy, of course, but I'm unsure how to go about the rest of the process. I imagine it would entail editing the sound sets using the Sound Set Editor, which I have downloaded but don't yet know how to use. Is this something that would be feasible for a layperson such as myself? If anyone has any insight into how to proceed, I'd be most grateful.

Hello Brian!

If you want to trigger an additional matrix, the easiest way would be to use a keyswitch to change to this matrix and a second keyswitch (or MIDI CC) to change to the desired cell. Sometimes it may be necessary to include an "ord.", "natural" or "normal" before the first keyswitch in order to avoid additional keyswitches that are generated by the sound set.

If you want to use your own keywords instead of MIDI commands, you would have to program the Sibelius dictionary and the sound set accordingly.

I do understand how to trigger additional matrices and cells via keyswitches. I was looking for some advice on how to go about programming the Sibelius dictionary and modifying the sound set, but I now realize this is a question that would probably be more appropriate in the Sibelius forum than in the VSL forum, so I'll try there.
