  • [SOLVED] Vienna Ensemble silence problem..!

Dear Community members, I need your help with a recent issue in vienna ensemble pro. I am using vienna ensemble pro as a VST plugin within Cubase 6. I run the software on a laptop and it has worked perfectly up to now. The problem I have is that whenever I click on the vienna ensemble pro window the playback in my cubase project stops and everything becomes silent. I have a midi controller keyboard and when I have the cubase window active I can select the different tracks and play the oboe, clarinet etc. by choosing the different midi tracks so the routing works well. I can also see that the input is registered at the corresponding channel in the vienna ensemble pro window. However if i play on the midi controller keyboard and then click one of the vienna ensemble pro windows to make some adjustment, e.g. try another articulation the sound disappears and when looking at the channels in the I can see that no midi input is registered. If I click on the cubase window everything works again. Additional info: I reinstalled the drivers for my sound card (AVIDs Fast Track 600) recently and this problem started at about the same time but I am not sure if they are correlated. Do you have any idea what might be the problem...? I think probably some setting is wrong...? Hope you can help me with this, it is so frustrating..! Tobias

  • In Cubase, go to Devices -> Device Setup... -> VST Audio System. Disable "Release Driver when Application is in Background" on that page and your problems will disappear.
