Sibelius playback of dynamics

I am using the full collections and soundsets.

The ppp, and pp, dynamics are inaudible and the lowest usable dynamic is p.

On this page listen to VSL Sibelius dynamics at the bottom. Piccolo and two flutes playin crotchet Cs starting ppp, pp, p, mp, mf, f, ff, fff, ff, f, mf, mp, p, pp, and ppp. 15 notes. You can just here the ppp and the pp at the start but they are far to quiet to use and oddly the last pp and ppp you cannot hear at all (so you are only hearing 13 notes).

This isn't right. Is it something i'm not doing correctly? Is there something I can do about it so that all the dynamics are useable?

How to optimize the behaviour of dynamics is explained in the "Optimizing Sibelius Playback" manual, page 15. It can be downloaded here:

Additionally I'd like to recommend using the "Vienna Symphonic Library" House Style. It includes optimizied dynamic values for our instrument collections.

How do you know what house style is being used?. I have imported the "Vienna Symphonic "library housestyle but when you ope the house style list it doesn't highlight or make clear which one is is currently in use.

Hi David!

As far as I know you can't display the currently loaded House Style. Anyway, if you are in doubt, just import it once again. In order to keep your layout settings only import the Playback dictionary and the Instrument definitions.
