  • Solo strings - vibrato on lowest note?

I'm just curious… I was playing around with the "03 VI_perf-legato_Vib-progr" sample on solo violin and when I played the lowest note possible (G3) there was still vibrato. Then I realized that almost all patches have vibrato on G3. How did you do that? Did you record and pitch down a G#, or did you pitch the string down to F#? I thought there was at least 1 sample per note? I would actually prefer that the lowest note is played "non-vibrato" - like in reality, instead of having to switch sample manually.

  •  Yes, I found this an unpleasant surprise too.  It seems totally out of keeping with VSL's depth and detail of sampling.

  • yeah, I see no reason why vsl would to do something 98% complete, so I'm pretty curious what they have to say about this. what's the reason to record unrealistic samples, or, if that's not the case, why not record the lowest note?

  • Hello

Since the Solo Strings are a very long time on the market 200? you may assume that you are not the first guys who are discussing this subject.

Here is a link to a thread in 2006 http://community.vsl.co.at/forums/p/9072/67802.aspx#67802 which also contains an answer of Herb!
