I have been noticing the solo tenor trombone in MIR has a lot of mid-high frequency and sounds odd. The tone of the actual trombone samples is great, but the MIR preset seems somewhat strange. I tried altering its position, directivity, EQ, and nothing does much. I then switched to alto trombone with the same tenor samples and it sounds perfect - very mellow and natural. Also, all the other trombones - ensemble, bass, contrabass, alto - they all sound great. Just the tenor sounds strange and I am wondering if anybody has noticed this.

[SOLVED] tenor trombone in MIR

We have indeed found an error in the implementation of the Directivity Profile of the Tenor Trombone. Thanks for reporting, and sorry for the inconvenience.
As a quick workaround for now, we suggest to use the Instrument Profile for the Bass Trombone instead - this is not a perfect solution, but at least close. We will of course implement the correct Directivity Profile for the Tenor Trombone in the next update.
Thanks for your patience! Kind regards,
