  • Finale Human Playback Preferences files for VSL/Finale users

I note that in the Needful Things section of User area there are seven Soundset files for Sibelius, but only one file of Finale Human Playback preferences and that  this Finale HP Preferences file is only downloadable for registered users of the VSL Special Edition. This was not always the case - - I remember being able to download some version of this file several years ago even though I was only a registered user of the Symphonic Cube. I'm wondering if any further VSL  files for Finale Human Playback Preference files are in the works. If not, why not? And, in the meantime,  it seems to me that it would be helpful to allow registered users of the Symphonic Cube or other VSL libraries access to the already existent HP Preferences for the Special Edition. Having this file as a model might be quite useful to those who use Finale with VSL products other than the Special Edition.

    Thanks for listening

  • Thanks very much to Bill and Albert S. for all the info and links - - I'm sure this will be helpful.

  •  Albert, I've downloaded your preferences and imported them into Finale and I can say they do work.  I just got SE a few days ago so I'm sure there are tweaks I'll have to make.

My question though is are your preferences more comprehensive than the preferences we can download from Vienna?  I haven't had a chance to look at that file yet is why I'm asking.

    Steve W.

  •  I find a couple of things surprising in these preferences.  You don't specify the CC1 value for many articulations.  How do you know you're on the right row of the matrix?  And... you don't use the third "action" to specify how dynamics are to be handled.
