  • Hello,
I have been used Logic few years. It's very intuitive and easy of use for start. But if you go deeper, there is quite a lot bugs and restrictions. I don't like the multi-timbral working in the Logic, which is necessary, if you want to use VE Pro and MIR. There is no VST Expression (which is in Cubase) alternative in the Logic. It's very lengthy to switch articulation in the Logic. I made my own Environment (around 1000 transformers). It works quite good, but if I want to evolve it, I hit to the Logic's bug. So, it's not so intuitive, as could be.
My way to the CUbase was very thorny (I don't like the graphics of the Cubase, I have to adjust it a lot), but now, I'm very satisfied with combination Cubase, VE Pro, MIR Pro, and VSL sound libraries. It just works nice!
    Best,
    Martin

    Hello,

    Hello

I use program change and bank changes to change  articulation and I use VSL Level  II  preset

How could you use 1000 transformers ?

    I use 20 transformers for 16 instruments

The trick is to use the banks of the multi and made your custom bank changes i.e Bank 1 will send C0, bank 2... C#0

Then if you send program 1 it will send C1, program 2 it will send C#1.........

This is symplifying a lot the environnement

    Best

    Cyril

  • Hi,

just want to tell that I switched from Logic 9 to Cubase 6 when I got MIR Pro. I couldn't stand the multi-timbral limitations and all the other complications with the event plugin tricks, so that was reason enough for me to switch. I have not really noticed any performance differences between the two hosts with mir, but in Logic it was too much work and complications to even setup a 30 instrument orchestra with mir… I could say I'm satisfied about my decision to switch.

    Hello

Do you use MIR PRO in stereo or in 5.1 or 7.1 ?

  •  Hi Martinz,

As a long time Logic user - I have just ordered Cubase 6. Please can you tell me whether you had any problems migrating your existing Logic music to Cubase and how this is done? Also, are there existing Cubase templates available for VEP Pro and MIR that I could use to save set up time?

    Best regards, Roy

  • I wonder if there are more tutorials for using Cubase or Logic with MIR Pro than the manuals of VSL. But ok, maybe I should better go through the older MIR-tutorials first.
