  • Flute 2: Missing Patch

What happened to the sus_Vib patch?  It's listed in the sample content in the product information, and it was in the original download instrument.  But it's no longer in the full instrument now that I've downloaded the extended library.

  •  I'll second this question.   The DVD library does only have the progressive vibrato and not the normal vibrato.

Is this an example of something the download library has that the full DVD version doesn't?

  •  Bump...

  • Standard Instruments downloadversion are always stripped down versions of the DVD content. No chance that there is more content available.

There are differences just in the names of the patches, mainly to keep consistent names for the whole download instruments family.

In a nutshell the DVD patch prog-vibrato is the same patch of the standard downloadversions, here labeled vibrato.

  •  sus_Vib and sus_Vib_progr are not the same thing at all.

The Flute 2 Patch Matrix pdf lists  sustain_Vib and sustain_noVib.  The Full Flute2 Patch Matrix pdf lists  sustain_Vib_Progr and sustain_noVib.  The sustain_Vib has gone missing.

  • I tried to explain, that the DVD collection do simply have a different patchname labeling.

The names of the standard download instrument are simplyfied because of the reduced content.

The full download version are identical with the DVD collections, therefor the names follow exactly the labeling of the DVD collections.

If you play the progressive vibrato patch of the full collection and compare with the regular vibrato patch of the standard collection there should not be any difference (except standard are mapped in whole tone scales and full is chromatic).

So you don't miss anything, just the patch naming conventions of the full library offer a more detailed description in some cases.

  •  Let me put it another way...

Other instruments in my collection have both a sustain with immediate vibrato (sus_Vib) and sustain with delayed vibrato (sus_Vib_progr).  Except Flute2, which has only the sustain with delayed vibrato, and no sus_Vib.  Clearly it's missing.  You're the master preset builder, so obviously you know the importance of having a consistent pattern of patches...

Bill, you need to go back and read Herb's reply, it explains your question perfectly well. There simply is no Flute 2 sus_Vib in the Flute library (DVD or download), the confusion has arisen because in the download library the Flute 2 progressive vibrato is simply called sus_Vib, it's just an anomaly of the naming scheme in the download library.  There is no missing sound between the libraries.

There is no Flute 2 sus_Vib sound anywhere,  that is the missing articulation - but it does not exist anywhere.

  •  OK, got it.  As I embark on creating presets and then HP rules in Finale, I want to be sure of what I have and what I don't have.  Thanks!
