Hi to the forum,
I am presently orchestrating arrangements that will use vienna instruments as part of the digital orchestration for the accompaniments to the vocalists on a cd.
I will not be mixing the CD, that is being done by the sound person who does the recording in the studio where the vocals are being recorded.
I will be giving him wave files of each vienna instrument track in the orchestral accompaniment to be used in the mix.
Is it best to add eq presets to each vienna instrument track when I export it as a wave file so that the eq is present in the wave file, rather than without it?
It's just that Vienna Suite has lots of presets for vienna instruments, and as these are tailor made for vi's, would it be in my best interests to get the best sound for vienna instruments in the mix, to add some of the vienna suite plug in effects before I give them to him?
The other thought that has been through my mind when thinking about this, is this - if I add the eq presets to each individual instrument when I export it as a wave file, will this make it difficult for the mixer when if he decides to add an overall eq to the final mix later on?
He will also probably use his own compressor and limiter and other effects on the final mix, but, lets say I use compressor, limiter and other effects that are tailored for each instrument, as an added effect when I export each vienna instrument track as a wave file for the mix - will that kind of make it too difficult for him to add an overall compressor/limiter for the final mix, if some of the vienna instruments have these effects added to the wave files before he mixes them?
Also, when I export the wave files from each vienna instrument track, should I have "export in real time" on or off?
Thanks if anyone can offer any thoughts or suggestions about this to me.
best,
Steve [:D]
