  • Yes, VI-6, VA-4, VC-3, KB-2 are different sections of the chamber strings.

  • It's fantastic!

    Thank you very much Herb!

  • Gotta look into this, thanks fo sharing

    Best, Jorgen.

  • Whew!! These are huge....

First - thanks Herb for posting these files.

Next - some questions: (I'm using the MIDI versions in Logic7)
Is each separate sequence a different instrument? In other words, do I need a separate instance of EXS24 for each track? I ask because I see in the Mozart that there are keyswitch notes in < Fa_perf-leg_f >
Should I be using a combination instrument here or elsewhere?

Can I assume (in general) that loading the instrument of the same name as the sequence/track will be correct? (I have Pro Edition and Chamber strings + other Horizon stuff)

    Regards - Colin

PS - this takes a long time to convert to a Logic song but it is VERY instructive to see how you work.

  • Musos,

I came across your post in the demo section in regard to Herb's cubase midi files and your converting them to Logic. This is probably a stupid question, but do you also have Cubase, otherwise how are you converting them into Logic files?[:O]ops:
I would love to study these in Logic and figure out a deeper way to use the instruments.
    Thank you, Jonathan

  • Hi Jonathan,

    I don't have Cubase.
Herb posted 2 sets of files: Cubase songs and MIDI files.
If you download the MIDI versions, these will open in Logic (or any other app) as they are "generic". It's a major mission to convert them though - you have to look at the name of each sequence, change the track to an audio instrument, load EXS24, then load the right instrument into EXS24. I did a little of one song, then ran out of energy and time.

I have a suggestion for all the forum folks:
If anyone translates one of these MIDI files into a Logic song, how about sharing it with everyone else. Completed songs could be uploaded to the VSL folks to put on their server. I've started on the Mozart....

    Regards - Colin

  • Yes, it would be great if somebody will share the logic files (.LSO)
I'm using Kontakt and it's really hard to find that patches, which were used in midi files (by name)
    logic 5.5 PC

  • I am trying to download the files and it isnt woking for me. Have they been removed from the site? It is saying there is no file to connect to.... Have they moved?

    Thanks in advance

  • How do I download the midi file for Danse Macabre? I cannot get the link to work. Thanks!

  • Sorry, files are not available any more.

Downloload links in a forum are usually meant for temporary usage. And this topic is almost 7 years old!

    best

    Herb

  • Hello Herb

    Happy new year.

Do you think it will be possible to put them back ?

    Thanks in advance

    Best
