Can only run Vienna Imperial in 32-bit?
I'm not sure but it seems after I updated my Snow Leopard to 10.6.4 and then I can run Vienna Imperial in 32-bit now. I've tried to operate Imperial via both Vienna Ensemble Pro and Vienna Imperial, but it can't be successful anymore if it runs in 64-bit. It keeps showing that "The selected position file could not be found." while the Directory Manager has been linked properly and all the installation and setting has been re-done by me again and again. I'm using the new Mac Pro with 16 ram and 8 cores. Both the OS and Logic 9 have been updated to the newest versions. I'm looking forward to any of your suggestions to help me out. Thanks!

Hello brianmusic,
I´d try to remove all files from the Directory Manager and add the sample content again by drag and drop from your finder, as a first step.
Of course you can always install the latest version of the Vienna Imperial Software and the latest eLCC as well (never a bad idea).
Best,
Paul

Hi Paul. I've just sent u an email too. I loaded up a song in cubase 6 today (having updated cubase to version 6.0.2 yesterday - and in Imperial it read - the selected position file could not be found. I checked the directory manager and the flagged folder, I went to that destination and the content folder has vanished. I'm re-installing all 6 DVD's but do you have any idea what could have made this happen? Regards, Dan.

Hi Dan,
I already answered your mail. No idea what could have caused this. Data has to be actively erased to vanish (in my experience).
Did you actually look for the folder with spotlight? "ViennaImperial" should make the folder appear, if it´s still there.
Best,
Paul

I just installed on a Mac and I'm having the same problem. If I load Vienna Imperial into DP as a native plugin, all is fine. Running inside VEP, no dice. Can't find any sample content. There is a ViennaImperial_Player.dat file in the main Vienna Imperial folder. However, I did not install the samples in the default location - they are on an SSD drive with other sample content.

Aha! Found the solution. Just run Directory Manager and add the directory where the samples were installed. (It would be nice if the sample library installed did this for us automatically - call that a feature request...VSL installation is tricky! I wish a single script took us through everything - sw install, sample install, registration, elicenser, and directory manager....)

Hi. I have a similar problem. I installed cubase 5 in partition "c" where my OS is located and the dat.files from the vsl library in partition "d". I get the "The selected position file could not be found" when i start Vienna Imperial Standalone or directly in Cubase. How can I solve this problem? regards Feliks
