    Is there a practical limit to the number of slaves I can run with VEP?  It ships with licenses for 3 slaves, but is it possible to add more by a) purchasing another  VEP box or b) paying per license?

    Yes, you can use more licenses, no problem. Each purchase comes with 3 licenses.
