  • Recording Audio from VEPRO

I have my template running using siblelius to generate midi, via  LoopBe into VEPRO.

I need to record what is coming out of the VEPRO master but apparently my audio card (MAudio AP192) will not do 'record what I can hear' in, say, Audacity

Any ideas? - I assume VEPRO doesn't support ReWire or something so I can get the audio into Reaper or something?

I can of course export midi and import into Reaper and setup the whole template there... but that is very time consuming!

  • Hello Steve!

Why don't you use VEPro inside Sibelius? Then you could simply export an audio file.

By using the standalone version you will either need an audio-loopback device or you will have to record the output of your MAudio AP192 with an external device.

  • Thanks Andy but I can't use it inside Sibelius as I want to mix the full orch (48 ish channels) in one instance of VEPRO and then the midi channels won't work will they?  And I can't use various instances because the effects buses are so awful in sibelius

Looks liike I'll have to buy a new soundcard (again - already replaced one to try MIR as the Roland thing I had did latency in non multiples of two!!) - cannot believe I seemingly bought ONLY soundcard that wll not let me record what I hear!!

    Grrrr

PS None of this frustration is aimed at VSL!!

  • You could always use something like Total Recorder.

  • Couldn't get that to work either! But I have now put Voxengo's recorder VST in the master bus (via jbridge!) and that seems to work!

    Thanks all

  • Hi Steve!

Right, with Sibelius you will need at least 3 VE Pro instances for 48 channels. Nevetheless you could make your mix without having to use the effect busses in Sibelius. Everything you can load there, you could also load inside VE Pro.

  • I guess so - to be honest I got fedup with the vagueries of the Sibelius mixer/audio engine a long time ago!

Problem would be that I use 4 or 5 different soundsets and so would need at least that amount of VEPRO instances and also a convo reverb on each instance... my PC may not handle that.

When I have a spare day (or so!) I may try!
