  • How to get more than 8 'ports' in Cubase 6/64

Hi guys, one more hurdle, sorry:(

    I'm getting there though:)

I only have 8 midi outputs in Cubase 6/64 (ie 8x16). In VEP, I have 32x16, so I've found a problem. I have no problem with all other software, incl. Play, but with wordbuilder, it requires an entire 'port?" I guess it's called, so I lose all 16 channels on that 'port'. I have 5 instances of WB, so it effectively means I only have 3x16 ports avail in Cubase, even though as I say I'd have 27 if VEP had it's way.

In other words, In VEP, I can go:
    1:1,2,3...16
    2:1,2,3...16
    ...
    32:1,2,3...16

In Cubase, I can only go:
    1:1,2,3...16
    2:1,2,3...16
    ...
    8:1,2,3...16

1 and 2 are taken up by VSL instruments (full orchestra and percussion)
3-7 are taken up by Wordbuilder as it requires OMNI (and I have 5 voices)
8 is taken up by Stormdrum.

...and I still have several libraries to add:(

How can I get cubase to 'see' all 32 outputs?

    Merci:)

    Shawn

  • Figured this out:)

I had the slave prefs in VEP set to 32, but on the master I'd not upped it from 8 to 32 in VEP Server. All works fine now - 32 ports in Cubase:)
