  • Vienna Ensemble can not find PLAY

    Hi all,

I am running XP x64 and Nuendo 32-bit. I am loading Vienna Ensemble 64-bit (not Pro) into Nuendo, and attempting to load PLAY (64 bit). But VE does not see PLAY.

I have set the VST paths in Vienna Enseble to include the directory where the "PLAY_VST_x64.dll" file is located. But when I try to "Insert VSTi" in VE, it only sees a 64-bit instance of Vienna Imperial... no PLAY.

I have re-scanned, and reloaded VE, but nothing seems to work. Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance!

    Matthew

  • You can't load 3rd party VSTi into Vienna Ensemble; only VE Pro.

    DG

  • This is sad news if true... but the VSL website states this about Ensemble, immediately folloiwing the description of Vienna Ensemble Pro:

"VIENNA ENSEMBLE is the FREE mixing and host software without the network function."

This caused me to believe that only the networking or multiple computers was disabled in the non-pro version. And oddly, it does recognize the 2C Aether reverb plugin...

But if you're sure of this, I won't keep seeking the solution.

  • The free Vienna Ensemble will load third party effects plugins, but not instruments.

  • Got it. Thanks.

You might want to update that comment on the difference being "only" the network function... was hoping for a great solution for accessing RAM in Nuendo 32 bit on XPx64.

Looks like I may have to go Pro... or  Windows 7 x64... or both. ;)

    Thanks again!
