  • Any Way Around This Scenario?

So, I have ye olde slave computer loaded up with lots of juicy goodness inside VE Pro. All connections on mamma computer are decoupled. Mamma computer decides she's tired of cookin' and needs a break, so she promptly crashes (ah, how the virtual world imitates life, eh?)

Well, pretty boy (slave) remains active and virile because he's been decoupled (ouch). But when I reboot mamma (which I've wanted to do more than once, believe me) and open the sequencer, she creates all the connections to VE Pro again, and I end up with duplicate instances like so many flies on day old banana pudding (SCoTS reference for those of you in the lower, lower, lower 48), which I must force disconnect and delete one by one.

Is there a way around this, or is it just the natural order of things -- what, with mamma being mamma and pretty boy being pretty boy just doin' his thang?

    Thanks,
    sorry, silly tonight,

    Mahlon

  • Go to the server window on Pretty Boy and select File > Force Disconnect All before you load the sequencer on Mamma again - that should do it.

I wish all tech queries were parsed in such inspiring lingo!

  •  Thanks for the help. I should've thought it through a bit more before I posted because, of course, that makes perfect sense.
