  • 16 channels in 32 bit VEP, but only 1 in 64 bit VEP, Cubase 4

Hi guys, not sure what is happening here. I have the ability to load 16 instruments in 32 bit, and right now I've successfully routed 9 Play instances, each mapped to channel 1, 2, 3 etc., consecutively. They all work on my keyboard.

In 64 bit, I've mapped one channel for Trilian, 2 for Absynth, 2 for Battery, then 10 channels for VSL instruments, but in Cubase, whereas I have the option to choose between "1-Vienna Ensemble Pro 1", and "1-Vienna Ensemble 2" etc., I only get a single reference to the 64 bit version, namely "2 - Vienna Ensemble Pro" with no channels. That seems to be the problem for me, and I'm not sure what I need to fix. Both 32 and 64 servers are set up for 16 channels, the instance names are different, as are Server Name in preferences.

The only instrument that works in 64 bit with my keyboard is Trilian, but all of the others (Absynth, VSL etc.) work when I click on the virtual keyboard within the VST, but not on my keyboard.

How do I get Cubase to show all 16 outputs for 64 bit the way it is showing for 32 bit?

    Thanks kindly,

    Shawn

  • OK strangely it works if I set all 64 bit channels to OMNI in (within the VST in VEP), then select the proper channel for out. I never would have thought that would work...

I guess the question now, is, is that how it SHOULD be working?
