Hello,
I try to build expression maps to work with SE Strings in Cubase 6.
But SE Strings + advanced mean a lot of articulations, and as CC1 doesn't work in Cubase I don't know what to do with matrices that have 12 cells and a unique row...
What can we do to have a working matrix, with more than one row? Is there a way to use CC1?
I'm very pleased to play with SE Strings, and VE Pro is absolutely fantastic to spread al my VSTIs on my local network. When I can, I'll get Orchestral Strings, but I can't imagine no alternative but to write music WITH complete an working maps... :-/
What can I already do to use all available SE Strings articulations in Cubase 6, and if not, is there another sequencer in which there's a Score Editor that supports expression maps?
Best,
Edmond

CC1 replacement in Cubase 6 expression maps..?

CC1 does work in Cubase expression maps, as I always use CC1,2 & 3 to control articulations, however, Cubase seems to have problems chasing CC events generally, so Cubase is not without it's problems, but CC1 does work as well any other controller does. What can't you get to work with CC1? You could use any (unreserved) controller with VE Pro, try using CC2 for example

Hi Andyjh, Thanks for your help. I don't know where I'm wrong when using CC1... but if I add it in the Output mapp an set it to 127, there's no effect when i turn the wheel. Please can you give a link where CC utilization an setting is explained? Anyway, if it works it's OK, and I'll find how to get it work in the end. Best, Edmond

Hello Edmond!
We already made VST Expression Maps for most of our collections (including Special Edition, SE PLUS, all Strings, Woodwinds and Brass collections and the Vienna Choir). They can be downloaded here:
http://www.vsl.co.at/en/68/141/460/1602/1288.htmPlease be aware, that you can't use a MIDI controller live, that is used in an Expression map. So CC1 can't be used with your hardware MIDI controller (or keyboard) while using one of the Special Edition or Special Edition PLUS expression maps.
Best regards,
Andi
