  • [FR] - Audio in feature to host FX on slave...

    Hi Guys,

Loving VE Pro and it has become an integral part of my workflow. However, there are sometimes plug-ins I'd like to use or host on a slave (some extra Altiverb instances for example) and I was wondering whether VE Pro in the future will allow the use of audio outputs and inputs via network (instead of just outputs from the slave routing back to the host?)

This would be a superb feature!

    Cheers,

    Joe

  • It has been stated that audio input will come in an update of VE Pro. I haven't read anything about a change in the audio output feature. In that case why not just use a standalone?

  • Hey DG,

Didn't know this was a forthcoming feature.

As mentioned, basically I want to be able to pipe in a group track from Nuendo/Cubase and route it to VE PRO and back, with audio processing applied in VE Pro.

The reasons for this are numerous; offloading some fx to a slave machine, running FX that I can't run on my host (my host is PC, the slave is a Mac), etc.

The reason for not wanting to use standalone is that with the current way VE PRO works, it would mean that the fx would be automatically latency compensated and more importantly, could be bounced offline!

    Cheers,

    JOe

  • Sorry Joe, I misunderstood. AFAIK the feature is planned with audio travelling both ways over the network, the way that FX-Teleport works, and has done for 6 or 7 years. [;)]
