  • Questions on licensing & installation

Hi. A few things came up recently:

    1. I installed the EH (French) Standard Library via Download Manager, and then the Extended version on top of that. This has created two folders on my sample drive: "11D_english_horn_french" (for the standard one) and "38_english_horn_ii" (extended one). Since the "extended" folder is almost 3 times as large as the "standard" one, I was wondering if it was possible to delete "11D_english_horn_french" (i.e. if all the "standard" articulations are included in the "extended" folder).

    2. License Control Center shows, for my Special Edition, the phrase "Application-Instances: 3". What does this mean? Is it supposed to be "library instances"? And can I split them between computers?

    3. What is the LCC license at the top of my list called "All Applications, VSL, Demo, Remaining Starts: 130"? There is a trash icon next to it (which doesn't appear next to all other licenses).

    Thanks for your help.

  • Hello Talino,

    1) Yes, you can delete the Standard Library. The FULL Library of the EH contains half-tone steps, just like the DVD Collections.

    2) Please send a screenshot to , not sure what you mean there.

    3) That is the demo license that used to be on all Viennakeys. It comes with 180 starts and works for all VSL products.

    Best,

    Paul

  • Thank you for the clarifications. Here is a screenshot from my Vienna Key — where the Application-Instances has been magically reduced to 2 since I wrote my original post!

  • regarding instances: i'd assume you have some patches from the special edition loaded into VE PRO and some in a standard VI (directly inserted into your sequencer) ... each seperate process accessing patches from SE counts as *instance* from the view of the eLC.

and remember: only a CRAY can run an endless loop in just three seconds.
  • Thank you, that was it, although to clarify I would add that individual instances inside VEP are added up: two VEP instances using SE patches plus one "internal" (sequencer) instance would count as three.

    Cheers.
