  • VE Pro on Macbook Pro

    Hi,

I am trying out working with VE Pro on the

new Macbook Pro Early 2011 17 inch.

My CPU temp and Fan RPM goes immediately

up once I open VE Pro. Even if nothing is loaded.

Does anyone have experience with that ?

    Are there any workarounds ?

Can it be that the software is not optimized for

MAC OS X in terms of CPU usage ?

    Thanks,

    Sine

  • Hi Sine,

I´m working on a MB PRO late 2010, no problems here.

This definitely shouldn´t happen. Did you try a restart, just to be sure that there are no conflicts?

    Best,

    Paul

  • Hi Sine, I experience the same situation with the exact configuration you have: Macbook 17 inch. Quad 2.3 Early 2011 and VE Pro It is such a beautiful computer... but the fan running amok on minimal usage of VEPRO is my ONLY disappointment. It is basically constantly ON even though the computer itself does not seem warm or doing any thing considered intensive... I added the benefit of an internal SSD 256 Gigs so every thing is snappy... and loud on the noise fan. If there a remedy to this ? N.

  • Hi Nox,

it sounds like VE Pro may not be optimized for MAC OS X usage or there is another problem

    we are not aware of.

Today I received my ordered ZALMAN NC3000 U Laptop Cooler and seems like the Macbook

is running a little lower with its CPU-Fan while sitting on the Laptop Cooler.

The Fan stil goes up to 5000 RPM but not 5500. Which allready makes a difference.

Also the overall FAN usage went down a little.

I still believe it has to do with VE Pro since if I don´t open it the system stays cool.

I also dont see any heavy CPU usage so it must have to be with programming.

Anyone from VSL aware of this ?

    Best,

    Sine
