Dietz and CM (or anyone else who knows),
In regards to the specs below of my new ordered laptop today, please consider the one question regarding memory.
1. Intel Core i7-2720M Quad Core 2.20GHz 6MB
2. DELL Precision M4600 - you can get 100% specifications in PDF by typing dell precision m4600 specs in google
3. DAW and system drive seperate from samples drive (128GB internal mini SSD for system and DAW, 750GB internal SATA drive for samples)
4. Additional external drive for sample loading if needed using eSata.
5. Soundcard will be using the firewire bus to keep everything seperate.
I have the option of 16GB of 1600MHZ memory, or 32GB of 1333MHZ memory (looks like 4 slots, dual channel memory). Using MIR and soon to be MIR pro with my DAW in a single box setup, which threshold would I be more apt to hit first?
1. Running out of memory if I go for the 16GB option
or
2. Getting 32GB of 1333 but the machine couldn't even handle running 32GB of MIR instruments because 1333 is to slow for 32GB of instruments.
I hope I am clear on this question. Recommendation?
Thanks,
