    Is it possible to connect via the same Gigabit router that I use for VEP?

    Yes. if you're machines are all on the same network (sharing your gigabit router) then you can remotely view the desktop of each. I myself use CORD instead of Microsofts Remote Desktop Connection. You can also look at using Synergy which works well in some settings.

    Please let us know how it works for you. I tried this a couple of times. Even bought Remote Desktop. I can never get this to work without it being painfuly slow and quite un useable.

    Perhaps because on the master Mac I am using Leopard and on the slave Snow Leopard.

    I gave this a really good try and just gave up in the end. And yet I hear of others using it with success. Got me beat.

    So please let us know how it works for you.

    I use OSX for my master machine and Win7 64 on my slave. Microsoft's Remote Desktop software is what you're after. It's a free download from http://www.microsoft.com/mac/remote-desktop-client

    I'm using the same Gigabit switch I use for VEP with no issues.

    I installed Remote Desktop for Mac, then identified my Windows 7 slaves ip addresses via (ipconfig). However, when I enter the ip addresses on my mac, it isn't able to connect for some reason. I turned off the firewalls on my PCs. I will check out CORD and see if I have any luck :)

    After some research I realized I cannot access two of my slaves because I don't have Windows 7 Professional. Apparently Microsoft crippled that feature in Home and Premium so you would have to pay extra $ to buy Pro. So I guess I have to upgrade. However, my third slave PC does have Pro and I was able to access that slave with CoRD. Excellent application! My only other question is, does using (Remote Desktop or CoRD) in any way interfere with VEP or the bandwidth it needs to work? So far it seems as if everything is working properly. This is very cool!

    you don't need to upgrade. There are actually other options available as well. You can run Real VNC. Basically, you setup a VNC server (which is like a service that runs on your PC slaves) You can then access them using built in Screen sharing (snow leopard) or using a VNC client (chicken of the VNC is a good one). Hope that makes sense.

    Ehhh I checked out the VNC stuff - A bit complex, I'm too tired to figure it all out right now so I just bought the upgrades and am using CoRD. It rocks, a real game changer. I'm more likely to use more sounds now that I don't have to shlep over to my other computers all the time. I can do it all from my Mac host. Thanks so much for the tips!! c
