Forum Engine
Sorry for being negative, but this forum engine you're using is just plain crap. No proper search functions, categorizing sucks, tracking read/unread/favorite posts, etc. Also, for some reason, I have to write br-tags for my notes to change line. Consider this instead:

Access your Forum Profile (it's the third button in the second navigation bar above), select the Community tab and set the Content Editor to "Enhanced". This should ease your pain at least a little bit. :-)
Using the Search-field on the top should do the trick, too (e.g. searching "categorizing" brings up your message).
Clicking on "My Discussions" on the forum's main page shows all threads you have opened or answered.
All threads with unread meassages will be shown with a yellow icon instead of the blue one as soon as you're logged in.
The "More Options"-button on the bottom of each thread-list allows for more control of sorting and/or notifications, and more.
Kind regards,

Consider this instead: http://www.phpbb.com/we had this until 2005, but fixing of security issues and bugs was an incredibly timeconsuming job and the search function ran into timeout in case of too many results
and remember: only a CRAY can run an endless loop in just three seconds.
