Not sure if this has already been reported or not....
I'm running Vienna Ensemble (not Pro) v4.1.7553 as a plug-in in Logic 9.1.3 (32-bit)
When I open a Logic song, VE opens and the mixer is shown. However, only when I click on one of the VI Pro instances, then the sample loading begins (of all currently "loaded" instances).
Is this a (known) bug?

That's what I'm reporting - it doesn't start loading here at all until I click on an instance. I just tried again: opened the Logic project and waited 5 minutes. Then I went to VE and clicked on a VI Pro instance, and the loading started from 0%. In other words, it was NOT loading in the background as you suggest.
Any other other comments on my original post?
you can use VI instead of VI PRO !
Otherwise to check if it is loading open activity monitor and look at the I/O on disk or wait a few minutes, open a VI pro and see how many sample are already loaded (to left of the screen) the % figure is not good
Normally VSL working on that so it loads as fast as Kontakt 4
Cyril, you're right about the % figure.
I tried again and watched in Activity Monitor and saw that VE was slowly increasing in the memory amount used.
I then checked VE and looked at the samples. 700MB had already loaded (about half complete) but the % said zero (!!!).
Using VI is not an option really as I'm using the Dimension Brass setups, but I wasn't really hassled with waiting in any case - I just thought that there was a problem. Seems there isn't, apart from the % indicator which seems to wake up long after the loading has started.
