VEP freezing system

I am running VEP on a local and slave computer (both AC1s) using Cubase Studio.
The problem occuring now is that when I attempt to open the second instance of VEP
the system freezes (message is program not responing).
eLicence and VEP are all up to date versions.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
