    working on mac pro (with protools 8 HD) and windows 7 (with VEP), I just installed the 7384 update. I can't get the VEP 64 bits server on the PC from my protools station. I only see in the plug-in the 32 bits version. Could anybody help ?

    have you ever launched th VEPRO 64bit service? a dialog should have appeared asking to add an exception to the windows firewall.

     

    this are the ports required to be open (description below is the view from the slave side):

    6472: 32bit server connection (TCP) - incoming & outgoing
    6473: 64bit server connection (TCP) - incoming & outgoing
    6474: 32bit server discovery request (UDP) - incoming
    6475: 64bit server discovery request (UDP) - incoming
    6476: 32bit server discovery response (UDP) - outgoing
    6477: 64bit server discovery response (UDP) - outgoing

     

    you can check this in windows firewall with advanced security (type *fire* into the field *search programs and files* after clicking the START button)

     

    and remember: only a CRAY can run an endless loop in just three seconds.
