  • Cheapest Path to the Holiday Special?

I own the Special Edition Standard DVD and always wanted to add Special Edition Extended ($570 US). I want to take advantage of the current Holiday Offer and, as far as I can tell (and someone please correct me if I'm wrong), the cheapest DVD Standard Library is the Bösendorfer Imperial at $185 US, right? If so, I'd basically be getting Special Edition Extended at 68% off (along with a nicer piano).

Also, one important question before I pull the trigger: will purchasing Bösendorfer Imperial qualify me for a free Special Edition Extended library? I ask because I noticed Bösendorfer Imperial itself is a "standard" only library (i.e., no Extended counterpart) and wanted to make sure I didn't miss some fine print somewhere that would disqualify it in some way because of this fact.

  • If you read the offer carefully you will notice that:
"It does not apply to purchases of the Standard Libraries of Harps, Special Keyboards, and Bösendorfer Imperial."

I think the cheapest library to take the offer is "Elements".

    It's also stated that:

"You can choose your free Extended Library from the following Collections: Vienna Special Edition, Special Edition PLUS, Solo Strings I, Solo Strings II, Chamber Strings I, Chamber Strings II, Orchestral Strings I, Orchestral Strings II, Appassionata Strings I, Appassionata Strings II, Harps, Woodwinds I, Woodwinds II, Special Woodwinds, Saxophones, Brass I, Brass II, Special Brass, Percussion, Elements, Vienna Choir."

    Cheers

  • Can't believe I missed that, thanks!

  •  Just a suggestion...

If your budget allows (and it may not), rather than looking for "cheapest," how about looking for a standard library you would have the most long-term use for?

  • This was a budget issue, but it's still a good deal (for me) so your suggestion makes sense, thanks. One final question: qualifying libraries don't have to be purchased via the VSL site, do they? I can buy them from any of their authorized dealers/distributors like Best Service, Sweetwater, etc. and still be eligible?

  • Hi emspace,

You don't need to purchase our products in our web shop in order to qualify for the holiday offer, you can also purchase at our distributors and dealers.

    Best,

    Stefan

  • Perfect, thanks Stefan!

  • Just wanted to add that if this is a budget issue some US retailers like SweetWater offer to break your purchase up into 3 payments +$10 processing fee (with your credit card) - so a $600 library is $210 first month, then 2 more payments of $200 over the next 60 days (automatic).
