    I had deinstalled my VSL SE a while back because the "Show Window" thing was a big workflow killer for me. However, after using other products, the elegance of the VI player is still unmatched IMO and I came back here and found out that a version 4 was released (what happened to 3?). I looked over the changelog and saw this: "Removed dependency on vsldaemon" — is this the key feature I'm looking for? Based on the forum search, VI Pro users no longer deal with this, but I couldn't find anything on the standard VI player. Space is pretty tight on my HD at the moment so I'd rather not reinstall the entire library just to see if this is still the case.

    Vienna Instruments Pro opens directly, which is great.

    The "old" Vienna Instruments - even v4.1.x - still relies on the show window server interface as before, which is a pity.....
