Clicks on legato leaps? (Solved!)
Hi All: I seem to getting clicks to an increasing degree on legato leaps or sometimes steps. I'm working with the DL Bb Trumpet right now. It seems to be getting worse, and is consistent as I repeat the affected notes in a sequence, but not on every note (of the scale)or articulation. Is there a chance that something has gotten corrupted and I need to reload the sample set, or am I missing something? I tried making velocities match on the notes, which has helped some, but I don't remember this being an issue when I first made the sequence. Nothing has changed, except I downloaded the latest VI build to try to fix the problem to no avail. THe perf-legatos are some of the best parts of the library as you all know. Any advice is appreciated. Running latest build VI on Mac 8-core w/lots of RAM, OS 10.6.2, Pro Tools 8.03. Steve

Paul: I wrote 2 email reply follow-ups a week ago, but received no reply for some reason. (not even the form acknowledgment). I downloaded fresh samples, put them on another HD and still get the exact same click problems you heard. Have you been able to figure out what's going on? Steve Solum

Thanks for that idea, Richard. I'll keep that in mind, particularly on pieces already in progress. I seem to have a special case here that Paul and I are looking at. I'll re-post here when we sort it out. Steve

I booted VI Pro for the first time tonight and the Bb Trumpet seems to work fine. The problem clicks had been consistent with no-vib perf-legato @low velocity, fast legato and trills (trumpet only). They now are gone. I was on my 2nd VI (not pro) downloaded as well as fresh download of the samples, and for some reason the clicks persisted, but with VI Pro they're gone and I have my trumpet back. Thanks, Paul, for keeping in touch on this. And as my bonus, I've discovered how amazing VI Pro is and how easy the transfer is from the old VI. I bought it early to get the free flugalhorn but was putting off trying it until I finished my current projects for concern of learning curve and complications. I shouldn't have worried! I look forward to finishing and even re-working current projects with VI Pro and can't imagine looking back at this point. Thanks for a great product! Steve
