    I have a MAC pro running 10.6.4.  and a brand new Intel i7 PC running windows 7 home premium.  connected via a gigabit switch.  The PC sees the MAC in it's network.  The Mac does not immediately display the PC in the available servers side bar (not sure why).. .but can connect directlyto it nonetheless by simply typing it's server name into the 'connect to server' command from the Mac OS prompt.  This connects no problem (via samba protocol).  What am i doing wrong here?  Advertising is turned on on the PC VEP server.  what else? help!

    I don't know if this helps, but make sure all versions (server and client) are from the same build if possible (that solved similar issues in the past on my PC).

    Yes, this is indeed a requirement. Connection will be impossible between different versions of VE Pro.
