    Hi.

    I intend to purchase vienna ensemble pro.I need to work on low latency, as I play live with several midi keyboards.

    Is there latency via gigabit ethernet ?

    I have two quad core pc's, connected with 1000mb network.

    Also, do I need additional vienna key for the slave pc ? I have one on my master pc.

    You only need an eLicenser for running the VE Pro Server and standalone application. The VE Pro Server Interface plugin doesn't require an eLicenser. VE Pro allows you to set the latency to a multiple of the master host process buffer size. Usually over LAN people tend to use one or two buffers of latency (which is the maximum), because no latency is rather heavy on the CPU. The latency is reliable (sample accurate, no jitter) and is also compensated by the master host plugin delay compensation. For live playing you could temporarely set the VE Pro Server Interface plugin to no latency as well.
