  • Just installed Vienna Special Edition (and +). Now what do I do?

    Hey orchestrators!

    I need some help.

I just installed the Special Edition with the plus. It's been so long since I used this stuff I've forgotten what to do.

I'm not up to date with any of the software at all. I remember I bought this to get the VST. I've seen tutorials online on how to use it, but what should I download now? Are there som mandatory plugins, and extraprograms, updates etc that I've missed?

Also the USB-thingy. I plugged it in. Do I have to do something with it, or are my DVD's still registered?

    Thanks a bunch guys =

Unless I'm mistaken I should get the "Vienna Instruments Software Player" and "Vienna Ensemble Mixing Host". How do I register with the USB-key? It asked for a DVD when I popped it into my computer. Did I get one with my package or did I obliviously loose it during my 3 year absence?

    Hi Stahlsparre,

that´s correct, you need the Vienna Instruments and Vienna Ensemble Software, available in your User Area.

Also, download and install the latest eLCC software.

You have registered your products on our website and you have also downloaded the licenses to your ViennaKey.

Insert this key in a USB slot on your computer - your permanent licenses are already on it.

Yes, you should still have your DVDs, containing the sample content. Start the "Library Installer" from your Vienna Instruments applications /programs folder and point it to the "package.info" file on DVD#1. You will be guided through the registration.

Here is a video about the registration/installation process.

If any problems occur, it´s probably best to contact directly!

    Best,

    Paul

  • Thanks for the easy step guide, Captain! I'm ready to kickstart my creativitity.

  • Hi, I have the same problem, but I haven't bought the DVD version, I downloaded the Special Edition Vol. 1. The Librairy Installer stills asks me to locate the package.info file, and I have no idea as to where I'm supposed to lacate it (it says "comes with the download - what does that mean ?). Looking forward to an answer. K.

  • Hi Kara,

    Welcome to our forum!

In the Vienna Download Manager you see a button "Install" after the download has completed - if you press this button, you won't have to look for the package.info file as the installation starts right away. In case the problem persists, you can find the package.info file in the very folder where you downloaded the samples to, e.g., \Downloads\SE_Vol-1_Percussion-More_v01\ (you see the location in the Vienna Download Manager).

    Hope that helps!

    Best,

    Stefan
