Greetings, all! I used to be a passionate musician, playing a number of instruments and enjoying live performance. I became ill and developed a physical disability which prevented me from performing… and eventually led me to the discovery of DAW software on my Mac, first Garage Band, which came free with my computer, then I bought Logic Studio.
I have now become a passionate amateur music composer. Eventually I developed some kind of a "delusion of grandeur" and decided to compose a symphony, just for myself and friends. The orchestral libraries which shipped with Logic don't seem to be suitable for much more than cheap sounding "elevator music", and I bought the VSL Special Edition.
I'd like to thank the VSL team, and especially Maya Vinson, for their support while I was making my buying decision, and here are the finished roughs for the second and third movement of my Symphony in progress. The mix still needs a lot of attention - next year, when I am finished composing the piece. I call it The Symphony Of The Earth. There will be six movements all together.
The second movement is called "Fire". It is Viennese School 12-tone music:

This also features the orchestral percussion kit which came with Logic
The third movement is called "Air":

Enjoy my little piece of self indulgence, if you can - both files are in the iPod/AAC format...
