  • How to run VE 32bit in Logic

    Hi folks.

Okay, so i just got a brand new MacPro Quad, installed all of the latest VSL plugins.

At first i was baffled why many of my plugins would no longer show in the "Effects" list within VE. Then i figured out it is because when i start VE (or a single instance of VI) it automatically selects the 64-bit version. Okay, so that makes sense. But what i dont get is how to specify within logic that i want to open the 32-bit version (so that i can access any old plugs that arent yet 64-bit supported. Altiverb doesnt even show up (really? It's not yet 64-bit???!?!) I realize i can still run Alti within Logic, but i prefer to use it on channels within VE....

So what am i missing here? How do i tell VSL/Logic to open up the 32 bit version, and not default to opening the 64-bit one?

    Thanks in advance

  • You can run any of your 32 and 64 bit plugins in Logic 9.1.x. via the 32bit bridge when you're in the 64 bit version. But you have to start in 32bit to scan your plugins the first time. Go to your application folder and find Logic application. Right click on it and choose Get Infos. Select Open in 32 bit version...

    That's it.

After you start one time in 32 bit you can start in 64 bit and all the plugins will be available.
