  • VEP randomly freezed

    Hello

My system is Macpro 2008 18Gb Ram Logic 9.11

    VEP is latest release.

My problem isVEP stop sounding  about 3~5 seconds while playing in logic.

It occurs quite often(about once per minute)

When it muted VEP CPU usage is dropped a lot.

It doesn't matter with amount of sample loaded. and also with CPU status.

    It makes me crazy

  •  I found my problem is not 'muted'

VEP was 'Freeze' for few seconds once or twice in a mintues!

Anyone have a same or simiar problem ?

Oh please... I have a deadline for 3 project!

Can someone ... or vsl staff... help me!

  • Yes. I was seeing this all the time with the previous build. But I was the only one and thought something was wromg with my machine.

Every couple of minutes the sound would stop and my CPU would spike up to 100% ( I have a little app that shows the CPU activity of all 8 cores)

This would happen with even only one instruments in VEP. It would also happen on large sessions.

I ended up going back to an old version and this stopped the problem.

The engineer at Vienna said that going back a version shouldn't fix anything as that build wasn't any different in that regard.

Still, it fixed the problem for me.

At the moment the latest build is working fine with no freezes.

Sorry I can't be of any more help.

    I'm on 2 Macs.

  • Not sure if this helps, but I had similar issues recently. Turns out it was the network and how external VE Pro machines were connected physically. I put them on a dedicated switch and it cleared up. Not sure if that relates to this.

  • I've been having this problem for months now and it is a nightmare!  I've tried so many different things - GB switch, avoiding GB switch going into Airport Extreme, various network settings.  As soon as I pass about 1/3 of my RAM when loading samples, this happens (I have 28 GB).  I've tried to use either of my machines as the master and get the same problem.  Vienna guys have been of little help unfortunately too.  Surely this is an issue they could address.  Maybe I'd have better luck running VEPro w/VI and Kontakt on Windows via bootcamp?  I really don't know, but I'm pretty frustrated with this.
