  • VI Pro - Vienna MIR

    Hi,

is the current version of VI Pro compatible with Vienna MIR 1.1 (that is, can I use it in MIR)?

    Thanks,

    Goran

  •  You can use it, but I think you have to load it as a 3rd party VSTi. The update where it loads natively is coming soon.

  • Vienna MIR 1.2 will introduce VIPro compatibilty as its main feature. The update will be available in your User Area in few days (... watch out for the Newsletter  ;-) ...). MIR 1.2 will handle VIPro in the same closely integrated way as the "legacy" Vienna Instruments. Apart form that, it will be possible to convert a VI-based MIR project to VIPro automatically.

PS - Vienna MIR 1.1 is actually able to use VIPro, but only as a "3rd party VSTi", and after renaming the DLL.

    Kind regards,

    /Dietz - Vienna Symphonic Library

YESSS! Can you elaborate on how that will work Dietz? ;-D

Like, what will carry over from MIR?

  • Not that I know anything about it, but probably the same way the VE Pro projects are converted. However, if this is true, beware of the fact that it is not 100% accurate, and may take a few thousand clicks to restore to your Presets to their original settings.

  • Hello DG,

From what I understood, this is a new feature in MIR 1.2 that converts MIR templates into VEPRO templates :)

I believe this is to speed up the workflow for people using MIR/VEPRO.

What I wanted to know from Dietz is, what's the scope? Just the list of instruments with their presets? MIDI assignments? panning? ;-D

Of course after the conversion you'd still have to adjust a lot of things, but this feature is invaluable for people who already have MIR templates who'd like to convert them to VEPRO templates to work with better latencies. And once they're done, do their final mix in MIR.

  •  I don't know anything about this feature. I was just responding to what Dietz wrote above, which is all about converting MIR/VI to MIR/VI Pro

  • Great, thank you. Looking forward to the newsletter :-)

    Best regards,

    Goran

  • Oh.. VIpro...

I thought I saw VEpro... my bad.

Would you mind to elaborate, Daryl? I don't know exactly what you mean - please tell us what's going wrong. TIA!
