  • VI Pro Questions..

Hi guys - I'm trying out the VI Pro demo and for some silly reason I've been having problems setting up polyphonic legato..

If I stack a load of brass legato patches within one matrix, for example, do I need to set each one to Interval Mode : Mono? I have tried doing this and it then results in me only being able to play one legato line at one given time.

...must be something simple I'm not doing here?

    Thanks in advance! [:)]

  • Hi,

VI PRO automatically loads all performance legatos as polyphonic legatos. No need to set up anything :-)

    Does that solve your problem?

  • Hi Paul, thanks for your reply.

The problem is that when I don't alter any settings and then try to play legato, the previous note remains sounding even though I am moving to the next note [:S] is there a difference between legato and performance legato patches? Or are these the same thing? I am using the Special Edition and Special Edition Plus full libraries.

    Best,

    Matt

  • Another issue i have relates to the built-in reverb - if I save a matrix (which includes modified reverb settings) and then load it up in a new instance of VI Pro, the reverb I set up on that matrix is switched off and everything reset...surely there should be a way around this?

    Matthew,

if you save a PRESET, all controllers, reverbs, velxfades, EVERYTHING in the "preset settings" is saved. (see page 16 & 28 of the docs)

If you only save s MATRIX, only the contents of the matrix is saved.

remember, you can load multiple matrices into a preset -- so the PRESET is the Big Daddy "save all".

    hope this helps.

  • Hi orchestranova,

Reverb settings are not saved on the matrix level, but on the preset level!

Re: Special Edition: Performance Legatos and Legatos are the same. Please send a MIDI file where this behaviour can be reproduced (with a short description and a link to this thread) to
