    Hi,

    Have been working in Logic Pro 9.1.1, with a large collection of Vienna Instruments (latest version), some EXS instruments and East/West PLAY with Storm Drum. This song was loading in about 10 minutes. A quite large orchestral score was playing back fine; I did not have  the impression that it was taxing the computer (Mac Pro 2x2.26 Ghz Quad Core, 6 GB Ram, 10.5.8) too much.

    However, this song will no longer load. Logic starts fine, but the progress bar on the song loading hangs at 'Vienna Instruments'. Once, the song loaded at a second attempt (after force-quiting Logic) but today, it does not load at all. Other songs load OK. Nothing has changed on my computer. I have repaired disk permissions and tried several things - restarting, opening Logic without a song first.

    1) any idea what has caused this and how I can fix it?

    2) is there a quick fix, for instance an option to open the song without loading the instruments/samples so I can access my music and maybe try to save the song with smaller/less instruments? I need to get back to work on this score ASAP, at this time I can't access it at all.

    Well not much replies yet - but in case other users stumble upon the same problem, this is how I fixed it (for now)

    Noticed that I could open other Logic songs but not with Vienna Instruments instanciated; also Vienna Instruments Standalone did not work anymore. This pointed to the software instrument being the culprit, not Logic. Re-installing Vienna Instruments (by downloading the installer again and running it, without uninstalling first) fixed the issue. I did not install a newer version than I already had - I was at the latest version, it was a pretty recent install on this machine. So apparently the instrument got corrupted somewhere along the way. Hope the issue doesn't return.
