I haven't tried with VI Pro yet. I'll have to check what speed my memory is, but 667 sounds about right.

Hi DG
Just did an informal test:
- 9 GB template (VSL only, 4 instances of VePro)
loading time 1:50
- 14 GB template (the same as above + 1 VePro with quite a lot of Kontakt)
loading time 3:50
this is on a PC slave i7-930 with Crucial RealSSD 240 GB (main machine is a MacPro), no RAIDS
Win 7 (64 Pro), everything in 64bit
I have the feeling that RAIDing SSDs for samples wouldn't make it still faster ...
Greetings from sunny Austria
Michael
Hello
With DG comment, I have find out that my template is using much more than the 16 GB I have in my Macpro !!!!!!!!!!!!!
MenuMeter was reporting bad results [:@]
Using Monitor.app I have find out that it starts swapping [:@]
I have done a test with the New VE Pro 6776 using VI Pro, the loading take more time !
I will install BigTop and I will do more test today with templates that does not go over my 16 GB !
Concerning your comment about the Raid 0, look at the Xbench results I have posted !!!
Best
Cyril
Ah, ok ...
When i built this sample machine I planned 12 GB, but one week later ordered another 12 GB for it, for a total of 24 GB [Y]
it really showed
Sorry I overlooked your RAID numbers, you are right. I decided against RAIDing only for the sake of simplicity. Maybe with a 20 GB template I will think again ...
All the best Michael

I would cut that test template down to around 10 or 12GB, becuase the nearer you get to 16GB, the more the OS will screw with the test results.
Is it possible (I can't remember what you have) to set up a template using only the Appassionata, and then we can compare? Or if you like, I'll do it. It doesn't matter whether or not it is a useful template; it's just the amount of samples to be loaded that would help with comparisons.
DG
Hello
If I load my Appassionata template after the SE plus template it takes 4 mn to load
If I load my Appassionata template first it take 31 seconds
Looks I will have to buy more memory !
Who wants to buy my 2x2GB stick ? 120 euro ? if you buy 6 stick I will give you the 2 X 1GB Mac stick delivered with the Macpro

Hello
Here is some graphics
1) Loading my 12 GB template :
ftp://www.cyrilblanc.fr/public/loadingvsl.png
2) Copying VSL LIB !( 113 GB ) from a 256 GB SSD to A Raid 0 of 3 x 64 GB SSD
ftp://www.cyrilblanc.fr/public/ssdraid.pdf
Comment :
If I load separately all the elements of my mframe64 it takes 4 mn, if it is VE pRO server that is loading all of them it take at the best 13 mn with the Raid 0 os SSD
this is all the test I have made :
