MIRse, Vienna Ensemble and Amplitube 3
Hello, I am guitarist and use a program called Amplitube 3 from a company called IK Multimedia http://www.ikmultimedia.com/amplitube/features/ . What I would love to be able to do is to use Amlitube 3 standalone, first with MIRse and if possible Vienna Ensemble PRO. Is there a way to do this and if so how? I really hope there is. Thank you for your time and any help you can give me.

As long as it's available as 64-bit compatible VST plug-in, Amplitube can be use within MIR directly. If it comes in 32 bit only, you will have to use a wrapper like jBridge.
... I'm not sure that I understand what you mean by "standalone" in that context, though ...?
Kind regards,

Hi Dietz and thanks for the reply. What I mean by standalone is that Amplitube can run on its own without the need for a host. It's not a plugin at this point. I plug my guitar into the Digidesign Eleven Rack which is connected to my computer and I use Amplitube as my virtual amplifier. It's amp modeling software. What I was hoping for is to somehow 'connect' Amplitube to MIR which would be really amazing but I just can't figure out how or if it is even possible. I really hope it is. It really should be as it would open up MIR to a whole new audience and possibly a new way of using MIR. Thank you for your time and help.

Oh, I think now I understand. :-)
At the moment it is not possible (yet) to route conventional audio streams into MIR. Nevertheless we work on a new application called Vienna MIR Pro that will bring this feature amongst many others (e.g. OSX compatibility). To achieve this, we have to rewrite huge parts of the application, so please don't expect it to appear on the market before 2011.

Thanks a lot Diezt. I will be waiting patiently. If I purchase MIRse now will there be an upgrade price to MIR Pro? I definitely would want to use it now with Vienna Instruments and EW PLAY. Finally, when will MIR/MIRse be able to work with VI Pro? I'm looking forward to that. Thanks again for your help.

VI Pro compatibility for MIR is just around the corner - we do already test a new build that will introduce that feature.
Regarding upgrading MIR to MIR Pro: It's much too early for an official statement, but personally I'm pretty sure that we will make the move for our existing userbase as painless as possible. :-)

Thanks Dietz, that's great news and I'll definitely be looking forward to it. Thanks very much for your time and your excellent help.
