  • Pro Tools Can't See VE Pro

After not using VE Pro for awhile I opened Pro Tools tonight and brought up an instance of the plug in. I opened VE First before opening PT.

But the plug in just sees the server interface, and says NOT CONNECTED. When I it "Connect," there is just a blank window, and no "New" button to create a project. I must have forgotten a lot here...can someone point me in the right direction?

I'm on 10.6.4 with the latest Vienna Software, PT 8.04

    Thanks

    Tom

    Hi Tom,

did you update your eLCC yet? This is necessary with every new product and every new software, otherwise the license cannot be recognized (the copy protection doesn´t even know of its existence).

    Best,

    Paul

  • I did yes Paul, but when I look in it I don't see a license for VE Ensemble PRO, just VE Ensemble, does that make a difference or are they all called VE Ensemble 3?

I can open the standalone version and it works fine...

  • HI Tom,

yes, the license for Vienna Ensemble PRO is still called "Vienna Ensemble 3", that´s a "left-over". No need to worry, it will work fine.

  • Thanks Paul. Well, I guess I can't figure this one out, PT refuses to see it, although the standalone of VE Pro works fine.....

    Hi Tom,

that´s strange - did you install the latest versions of both VI PRO and VE PRO?

    Best,

    Paul

  • I'm using these Paul:

    VE PRO is version 4.1.6844

    VI is  2.1.5740

    eLicenser 6.02.7034

  • Hello aerovons,,, I had the same prob a while back by choosing a saved VePro program (not sure what to call it??) It not only has a blank box when trying to connect, but also stops midi from getting to PT's!! So, what to do instead is to click on VePro server, don't open any saved VePro file, then load PT's and the connection is then available. If you have started this way and still have the prob,, I'm not sure what to try next? Hope this might help,,,, Mike

  • Thanks, tried but it doesn't work. So I tried it in Logic, same result. I can click on the standalone in the background and load projects fine, but the plug in shows no available servers.
