"Could not complete your request"??
.....because the specified procedure could not be found. (127) While looking up symbol _PL_ (or _PI_ ??) GetRoutineDescriptor" in "Vienna Instruments Pro.dpm" ... This is the message I get when trying to load VePro and PT's (003r) on Windows 7. I then have to shut both down with Device Manager (Windows)??? Probably something I'm missing?? I hope!? VIP works fine in 'stand alone', but have not got it to work with PT's yet?? Any help much appreciated!! Mike

Just tried useing PT's by itself,,, no luck!! It stops loading at 'plug ins Vienna Intruments Pro.dpm'? I checked the plug ins folder, and both VEP and VIP dpm and rsr files are in place. So at a loss as to why its not being found?? Any thoughts from VSL??? Thanks,,,,,,,,,, Mike

Thanks Paul, I'll try a reinstall tonight, and then uninstall if necessary. Thanks again,,,, Mike

I wonder if PT has a preferred location for plugins and VEP is located elsewhere?
-
Thanks Gianna,,, The plugs are in the correct location. Today I've uninstalled and reinstalled,,,, no go? Same error! So deleted the older RSR & DPM files (plugin extensions in PT's) and reinstalled again. Still same prob. Only way to get PT's to load now was to uninstall VIP and run VEP as I use to,,, and all is good!!?? So at least got some work done! I might not need VIP for what I do, have easily gotten along without. And the reverb in VIP is nearly useless and the older GUI is much easier on my old eyes. So,,,,, well,, we'll see?? VSL tech sup,, let me know if you find an answer. I'm sure that some day it will work,, and some day I might need it,,, but for now, at least, all is well!!! THANKS ---- Mike

Does anyone else experience troubles in PT on Windows?
Paul,
Yes - I have the same problem - Win 7 64-bit. Moving "Vienna Instruments Pro.dpm" and .dpm.rsr from PT's "Plug-Ins" directory to the "Plug-Ins (Unused)" directory at least gets PT up and running, where I can then use VEP.
I will bet that it is a problem where (32-bit) PT is accessing a 64-bit DLL.....

Dirk, good thought, and I did the same with the plugs for now, Vep still works great. And thanks Paul and VSL, you guys are on the ball!!! Appreciate it!,,,,,,,,,Mike

Wow!! I just changed my mind on the need for VIP,,,,, Listening to what Guy has done with the Flugelhorn and how artistic and real it sounds!! And by the way,, an incredible amount of articulations, when you consider its a gift from VSL. I would think that it would be well worth the 100.00+ for the horn itself! So I am now anxious to get VIP up & running. Please let us know about any progress made on it. Thanks again!!,,,,Mike
