    Hello all MIRers:

which version of Imperial do you load into MIR, and why?

Sorry for being unclear - yes: this is what I meant: "close, player, or distant".

It depends completely on the context - like always. There is no right or wrong when it comes to taste.

The Ellington-piece you hear as audio demo on MIR's product page uses the Player Perspective. For a piece where the piano serves as pure accompaniment I would most likely opt for the distant microphones. But you could also try to use the close mics, while keeping the actual dry signal at a very low level, thus emphasizing the sound of the piano in a certain room.

... in short: trust you ears! 😊

    Kind regards,
